As the sun’s rays grow warmer, the season of summer and folk festivals arrives. It is a time when amphitheatres fill with singing, dancing, and an atmosphere that brings generations together. Each region carries its own colours, embroidery, songs, and ornaments, yet all are united by a respect for craftsmanship and the stories of our ancestors. Folk festivals in Slovakia are not only celebrations of tradition, but also reminders of how rich and diverse our cultural heritage truly is. One of the three most important folk festivals in Slovakia is the Medzinárodný folklórny festival Myjava. The traditions of Myjava have been preserved not only in songs, music, and dance, but also in craftsmanship, textile art, and richly decorated folk costumes that tell the stories of entire generations. It was the exceptional beauty hidden in the details of Myjava patterns that inspired us while creating this collection.
