When Château Rúbaň approached me for collaboration last year, it felt like a return to my roots. When I first explored our traditional costumes and crafts, I also discovered the charm of winemaking. In winemaking, the whole meaning of life is hidden. Starting in January, in the deepest frost, decisions are made that determine the quality of the wine the vineyard will produce in the fall. With a single cut, a single decision, you predict an entire year. If you are greedy and leave too many shoots, you later realize that quantity does not equal quality. Many bunches may grow, but the vine cannot nourish them properly, and they lose taste and value. If you prune too much, the wine succeeds but there is less of it, and you risk having no harvest the following year. Caring for the vine requires intuition and balance, just like in life. As you move through life, new situations arise where you must decide—make a radical cut? Sometimes it is necessary, and you must move forward and evaluate the situation repeatedly.
This return to winemaking delighted me, and during all the crucial seasonal work, I visited and cared for Mília. From this grew a unique, nature-filled wine. Every lively bubble reflects that love. Nature is a vast source of inspiration for me, and I could not resist creating a beloved jewelry series inspired by the winemaking process. Hearts like sweet grape berries warmed by the summer sun. Warm earthy tones of brown, creamy, soft pink, and turquoise like the sky. Pink-golden shine like sparkling wine. Thus was born the small, beloved jewelry series Mília.

On the symbolic date of Candlemas, we began work on our joint project with Château Rúbaň. Mrs. Vladimíra had been waiting three years for this project, as work and motherhood had not left enough time. Winemaking requires the most important thing: TIME. But as they say, good things are worth waiting for, and we had the chance to engage in something we truly love.
The first introduction to Mília (a Slovak grape variety). We styled her nicely and asked her to be strong—strong yet delicate. So that the wind does not break her, so that her roots are strengthened, and when the sun arrives, she absorbs its energy to produce grapes that will delight many.
By this time, Mília was growing well. She had produced many grapes. We styled her a bit so the grapes could ripen and the leaves could protect them. We spoke to her intensely, guiding her to become excellent wine. Working in the vineyard is absolute relaxation—silence, birdsong, fresh air, and a clear mind.
The time had come, and Mília was ready for harvest. The grapes were sweet, even touched by noble rot, giving the wine an extraordinary flavor. We waited over a week to determine the perfect day for harvesting. On this beautiful sunny day, we were the first to pick the sweet bunches.
The first tasting of the sweet wine from the Slovak Mília variety. It is absolutely perfect, and we are excited for everyone to try it soon.
